Meet Tanya and Leon Johnson, our first Wedding Hashers Featured Couple! We began working with the Johnson’s to craft their wedding hashtag in Fall 2018.  Their official hashtag was #JohnsonsOneInAMcMillian, playing off of Tanya’s maiden name, McMillian.

The Johnsons were married on March 31st, 2019 in an intimate home ceremony in Clinton, Maryland. Tanya planned a rustic wedding, and it was simply gorgeous! There were sunflowers and rose gold décor as far as the eye could see. Tanya’s bouquet was a stunning mix of sunflowers and navy-blue roses.

The day started at a nearby hotel where the bride and groom got ready with their wedding party. Tanya and her bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done, and Leon and his groomsmen got haircuts in their hotel room.

Tanya and Leon did their First Look before the ceremony. Leon waited patiently, yet excitedly to see his bride for the first time. Double doors opened, and Tanya began walking toward Leon in a rose gold and blush gown, with a long cathedral veil. The two shared a beautiful moment together, just the two of them, before officially tying the knot.

While waiting for the ceremony to begin, guests enjoyed drinks and appetizers. There was a screen on the wall that streamed photos from Instagram using their hashtag, #JohnsonsOneInAMcMillian.

During a beautiful ceremony, Tanya and Leon exchanged vows, and it’s a moment Tanya will never forget.

“Leon’s vows were a profound description of the day we met and how it led to the day we wed. I got so emotional. My tears messed up my makeup. But I wouldn’t change that moment for anything.”

Both Tanya and Leon have children, and included a unity ceremony as a symbol of their blended family becoming one. Tanya, Leon, and their five children poured sand in a vase to represent their commitment to their family.

After the ceremony, the bride and groom celebrated with their friends and family. They ate, drank, and danced the night away with the people they love most.

We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson!
